Red String Bracelets...The Story

Red String Bracelets is a project head started by designers Mali and Yaron Millo, husband and wife. In 2011 we set out in to the unknown with an idea in mind. To build a handmade manufacturing base along side village women in a remote village in north eastern Thailand

We had already spoken with who was destined to be our manager in Thailand, Thirati Rachawang (Her friends call her Noc) but had not met in person. The experience turned out to be way beyond what we expected. Everybody was so gracious and welcoming and their hand making skills was stelar.

And so it was that a new brand was born. We ended up spending 6 months in the village teaching the women there the different techniques and have been working with them ever since.

Today you can find our range in many stores around the world. The project provides a stable source of income where good working jobs are not so readily available. It allows the women in the project to stay close to their children rather than having to find work in other towns and cities sometimes for months and years at a time.

Red strings is a people story. Its about transcending cultural divides. It celebrated the connection between all women. The thin thread that binds us all. And all the while producing beautiful works of contemporary designed fashion accessories.

Our range can be found under two brand names: Red String Bracelets which is a concept brand and Freebird Bracelets that includes a wider range. Enjoy and feel free to chat or drop us an email with any inquiries you might have.
